At High Meadow Farm every horse has his/her own stall and is individually managed as to the most suitable turnout situation and group. Horses are turned out at night almost year round. We believe horses do best with as much time as possible outside and this schedule allows for that, as well as having them easily available for their owners during the daytime hours for riding, training or just a grooming visit. It also leaves the 25 acre farm accessible during the days for hacking in the fields to ease the boredom of ringwork and circles. Severe and extreme weather conditions can affect turnout scheduling, but are rare in this part of the country.
FACILITY
Our barn houses 14 horses in the main aisle and 4 in the adjoining shedrow. There is an overflow barn with 3 stalls. There is also a washrack and large tackroom. There are 3 rings to work in: a 90’ roundpen, a dressage arena, and a 100’ x 200’ main arena with jumps. We have access to trails adjoining the property but they are on private land so we are considerate of conditions when planning trail rides. Fencing is a safe combination of 4 board creosote fence and Horseguard electric tape.
